Sauerkraut cabbage


Ingredients for making sauerkraut cabbage

  8. Millet 2 tablespoons
  9. Tomato paste 2 tbsp
  10. Salt, bay leaf, black peppercorns, fresh herbs to taste

Preparation of sauerkraut cabbage:

Step 1. Cook the meat broth.

We put the meat in a pan, pour cold water, put on medium heat. If a piece is small, then a whole piece. After boiling, remove all the foam, fasten the fire, throw the whole onion, bay leaf and a few peas of black pepper into the pan. Cover the pan with a lid and leave to cook for at least an hour and a half. When the meat is cooked, take it out to a plate - let it cool. Take out the onion together with the meat. Her - throw, she did her job.

Step 2. We take sauerkraut.

While cooking the broth, squeeze sauerkraut from the brine, put in a pan and simmer in sunflower oil. Then put it in the cooked broth and cook for 20 minutes. Remember that cabbage gives a salty taste to the broth, so we will finally salt at the end of cooking.

Step 3. Take the millet.

Rinse millet well, soak in very hot water for 15 minutes (so that bitterness comes out). Then put millet in a broth with cabbage and cook for 10 minutes.

Step 4. Take the potatoes.

Wash the potatoes, peel them and cut them in small blocks not very finely. We spread it to cabbage and millet. Cook for another 10 minutes.

Step 5. Preparation of gas station.

Finely chop the onion. Peel and rub the carrots on a coarse grater or cut into strips. Heat the oil in a frying pan, you can put and heat dry meat spices, bay leaf, pepper in the oil so that everything warms up and fills the oil with the aroma of spices. Fade a little and put onions in a pan. Fry the onion until soft or until golden brown. At the end, add grated carrots, mix and fry vegetables for another 5 minutes. Then add the tomato paste diluted with water (2 tablespoons per half a glass of water) to the roasting. Let it boil, stirring, and the gas station is ready. Spread it in the soup and leave to simmer for another 20 minutes.

Step 6. Take boiled meat.

We cut the meat into pieces, send it to the soup. Also wash, cut greens, add to soup. Salt to taste. Let cook for another 10 minutes. You can leave to brew for another hour. The soup is ready!

Step 7. We serve Kapustnyak from sauerkraut to the table.

In each plate we put a spoonful of sour cream. It is tasty to put a handful of rye crackers in a bowl with soup. Enjoy your meal!

Recipe Tips:

- - during cooking, cabbage should be stirred so that the dish does not burn.

- - You can not cut the potatoes, but put the whole tubers. At the end of cooking, remove, crush and put in soup.

- - cabbage - a dish that takes a long time to cook, so you can cook the broth the day before.
